Lily Potter was born Lily Mary Emma Nolte on June 8, 1918 the fifth of six children near Falls City Nebraska. She Married Otis "Red" Potter in 1948 in Hiawatha Kansas. She gave birth to Patricia Joann on April 3, 1949, and Sandra Sue on April 5, 1950. They all moved to Denver Colorado in 1953. She gave birth to Linda Lou on September 28, 1957. They were divorced in 1959. She never remarried. She worked 2 jobs by working outside of the home and running a rooming house. She retired in 1984 and then only ran the rooming house. She loved keeping busy by cleaning house and working in her yard. She loved housework so much that she walked over to Linda's house every week day and cleaned it, and also did the laundry. She has 3 grandchildren Ronald Kent Randell born January 3, 1968, Ava Marie (Reed) Martin born July 25, 1968 and Christina Lily Martinez born February 16, 1988. She has 4 great grandchildren, Monica Athena McQueary born September 4, 1986, Tyler James Martin born December 21, 1992, Danielle Marie Martin born September 5, 1994 and Brandon Gerard Martin born November 8, 1996. She has 2 great great grandchildren, Taliyah Deanae Claiborne born October 14, 2004 and Jayda Marie Claiborne born February 15, 2006. Her younger brother, Edmund Nolte, moved to Denver from Missouri in 1966 and lived with her until his passing in 1999. Lily was a lifelong Missouri Synod Lutheran. She was baptized and confirmed in Falls City. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Denver from 1953 until 1998 when she moved to Lakewood and joined Trinity Lutheran Church. After she sold her house and bought a condo in Lakewood, having more time, she enjoyed reading the Bible, biographies and working word search puzzles. She also enjoyed watching television, however, her remote control stopped working several years ago and she thought it was broken and threw it away. After that her TV remained perpetually on Channel 4. From that point on her favorite shows were on Channel 4. (Ha, ha, okay, she did occasionally walk over to the TV and manually change the channel.) After Edmund's passing, Lily lived alone in her condo until breaking her hip February 13, 2011. After her surgery and rehabilitation she was unable to live alone and moved in with family. In June she was admitted to Lutheran Hospice and doctors predicted she would have about a week. However, she fooled them all and left the hospice facility and moved in with Sandra and was in home hospice care until her passing on August 6th.
